Now it is time to think about your hometown. What is special about where you live? On your blog, describe your hometown. Be sure to include lots of describing words (adjectives) in your post.

My hometown is Auckland.

Auckland is incredible and and safe, Why? Because we don't have any poisonous species. Amarica have gigantic poisonous spiders, australia have large snakes and new zealand have none of them. New zealand is poison free and have loads of food stores, so wherever you are, if you are hungry you just need to drive to a store which won't be too far. We also have art on glen innes walls, painted by professionals. it's always nice to look at something that's perfect and beautiful, don't you think so? There is also a tall tower we so call the sky tower, its incredibly tall and the view from up there is stunning. One tree hill is also magnificent, a hill where you can view the area you live in is surely an impressive sight. New zealand is a safe sighting for everyone to enjoy.

new zealand history

According to maori history, maui a powerful demigod was set to sea with a strong hook made by his grandmothers jaw bone. while fishing with the hook he caught an incredibly large fish, that fish was New Zealand. in honor of this legend the northside of new zealand is sometimes called Maui's fish, in maori its called te ika a maui. And on the opposite side of our land, the north, sometimes people call that area Te waka a maui, translated it into english, the name is maui's canoe.

Day 1 Week 1 = a place to stand = activity 1 SLJ

To learn more cool facts about New Zealand, check out the Tourism NZ website. Read the fun facts posted on the website and choose your ‘Top 3.’ On your blog, post your ‘Top 3 Fun Facts’ about NZ.

1. to become a new zealand citizen, you must swear a loyalty oath to queen elizabeth.

2. when in new zealand, you must drive on the left side of the road.

3. There are no snakes in our country.

(ps : i didn't know if we had to write the history of new zealand since it was there, so i just put that in another blog post)

DLO about rounding numbers and decimals

Today we did maths and our math technice we were learning was rounding
numbers. I was joined with Ana and we worked really hard on this so check
her blog as well.I believe this was quite easy since we had played a game
earlier about the same thing rounding numbers. I enjoyed doing this how
about you Ana?

Ana: I enjoyed it because when I did it I understood it and
stuff aren't so hard to do if you know how to do it.

We both really liked it and enjoyed learning about it.

Rounding numbers pirate

"rounding numbers pirate"

WALT: rounding large numbers

Today we did math games to help us progress in mathematics.
The subject was about rounding numbers. You have to answer rounding number
questions then it will give you 10 score points each time you get the right question
Then try and gain everything like a ship, a crew, a map, a canon and some animals.

I went pretty well I believe because I got most of the stuff. I got a map, a crew, a bigger ship, a monkey and parrot but im missing a few things like a canon so the next time I play i'll aim for everything.  If you believe that you would like to play this game click here

traffic light. Green means topic sentence yellow means collaborating and red means
closing sentence. This was very helpful to our classroom and sharing it hopefully helps
you in writing and paragraphs.
