day 1 week 2 = The Great Taupo Cycle Challenge = activity 2 SLJ

On your blog, list the three people you would like to have on your Lake Taupo Cycle Race Support Crew. Tell us why you have chosen each person.

I actually don't ride bikes a lot but if I had to choose a person I would pick my third oldest cousin. ( not giving out names ) He also keeps loads of bikes in hes garage so I think he knows how to ride. Second is my 6th oldest cousin (still not giving names ) He may be younger than me but he is competitive and is a team player. Lastly my 7th oldest female cousin (younger than me and not giving out names ) Shes incredibly kind and is really supportive. These 3 are the people I think could win our race, but if we lost, we would always have our helpful supportive cousin beside our side.

Day 1 week 2 = swimming with the fish = activity 1 SLJ

On your blog, post a picture of yourself doing one of your favourite summer activities. Below the picture tell us what the activity is and tell us why it is one of your favourites.

Traveling
One of my favorite activities is traveling.  It doesn't matter where we go, doesn't matter how we get there. There is just nothing better than traveling to me. Its also a helpful activity, it helps you know your surroundings for the future if you plan to go anywhere.

(I also don't own any photo of me doing anything in new zealand but even though these are not from new zealand I still like traveling more than anything )

Day 5 week 1 = going going gone = activity 3 SLJ

On your blog, post a description of life in New Zealand in 2018. Please remember that the people who read your post will have never been to New Zealand or even seen a picture so it is your job to ‘paint a picture’ of New Zealand using your words. You can also post pictures, if you wish. Be sure to fully attribute the pictures.

Water rushing onto the shore of a beautiful texturistic beach, with such lovely eye sight among the multi colored ocean. Relaxing with no care in the world, don't you want this? a moment to enjoy the day without being worrisome? Well in new zealand we care about nature safety and human satisfaction.Sure other countries have so many good things, but are getting rid of the thing we need the most. Oxygen that comes from trees. We also don't hold anything dangerous like a venomous snake or red back spiders. ( we have spiders but not many species ) acknowledging that we don't have anacondas mean's you can have a perfect scenery at the beach or hike to see the marvelous view. The sun begins to settle and gives out the hot color setting that is incredibly fascinating, plus seeing the silhouette of the land is just breathtaking. Other than the view of the ocean or the sight of the mesmerizing sunset, we also have attractions. Like our astonishing glen innes center with painted walls or the extraordinary sight from above in the sky tower. It's just the perfect area to have a relaxing and calm holiday.

Day 5 week 1 = live on the edge = activity 2 SLJ

On your blog, write a letter to your best friend or a family member telling them about your trip to the tundra. To earn full points your letter must have a greeting (eg. Dear…) followed by 5 – 6 sentences of information about what your experience.

Dear Uncle and aunty ( sorry I don't feel like giving names )

In class we traveled to tundra, for educational purposes. When I first stepped foot in the area, I thought it was quite deserted. There was no trees, some areas the ground was hard and didn't have much water surrounding it. It was a new experience, I loved one thing though. I had fallen for the beautiful pile of dirt, sprinkled with snow in the distance. It was so empty in the area, that you get to see the mountains without your sight being blocked. It was so breathtaking, that I sat and stared at the mountains, that's what I spent most of my time on.

day 5 week 1 = blink and you'll miss it = Activity 1 SLJ

On your blog tell us whether you think logging should be allowed in New Zealand. Be sure to provide at least two reasons to support your argument.

I don't fully agree logging should be allowed in new zealand unless we have a lot of trees. Why don't I agree? Logging relates to cutting down trees, but why cut our last source of life? we are just killing ourselves. Were killing ourselves and our creatures, don't you think its sad we might lose our kiwis? Sure we may need to use trees for paper and stuff but how will we use them if we won't be around? there wont be any use for paper or benches or houses.

( this is not my drawing, I found it on the internet. Credit to the artist of this drawing )

Day 4 week 1 = Salt and Pepper = Activity 3 SLJ

On your blog tell us where you would build your hotel and what you would use to build it. For an extra five points, use Google Drawings to design one room in your hotel. You can also use a paper and pencil to draw your room, take a picture of the drawing, and post it on your blog.

I would build this hotel in Japan or New zealand. I would need a lot of money, so I would get a job first as a starter. Then gain more and more money, once that's done ill get my cousin to work with me when shes able too. ( PS: we have our dreams about the future, gladly we've also planned a hotel ) When we have enough to buy land, we will make our building out of bricks. We will continue building layers of bricks until we can verify its safe. Then we will design even amount of levels, meaning we will have an even number of levels in our hotel. Then we would get our family's choice of designs for each apartment level.  Afterwards we will continue working so we can buy employees and items. After designing we will as a professional room designers to check it out, to see if its possible. That is when we make a few upgrades then let the world to know.   The special thing about this hotel, is we will have customer service and a cafeteria. Not only that but it wont be that expensive, still a bit pricey but payable. Adding on anyone working can have an apartment on the extra floors.

Day 4 week 1 = pancakes and maple syrup = activity 2 SLJ

For this activity you are asked to choose one of your favourite foods. On your blog, write the name of your favourite food and then tell us how to make it. You may need to ask a family member, friend or Google (!) for help, if you do not normally make this food for yourself.

Onigiri

A great tasteful rice triangles. It's quite simple making these.

1. steam plain rice.
2. wrap the rice around tuna.
3.Wrap the rice with seaweed.

And that's your onigiri made. Enjoy a japanese recipe.

Day 4 week 1 = more than meets the eye = activity 1 SLJ

On your blog, post five questions that you would like to ask Sir Edmund Hillary about his life.

1. what was the reason you climb mount Everest?
2. When coming back down how does it feel
3. How do you feel about being honored and now being called sir?
4. Did you have anyone with you while climbing mount everest?
5. Can I have a hug? ( I think a hug from someone important would be nice )

Day 3 week 1 = The WWF = Activity 3 SLJ

Once you have watched the video, go to your blog and, using full sentences, tell us:
1) The name of the animal the WWF is working to save.
2) What the WWF is doing to help the animal.
3) What, if any, success they have had protecting the animal.

The saimaa ringed seal is a soon to be extinct seals. They give birth in a snowbank, but if there is no snow bank. they lay there eggs on the ice , because of this half of them die while being unprotected.  So now WWF is making snow banks for these seals.  They've succeeded to save some lives but now there planning an easier way to help the seals.

To WWF
do well, don't give up on the seals. Hopefully the don't become extinct.

One helper , one saimaa ringed seal life saved

day 3 week 1 = the secretive skink = activity 2 SLJ

On your blog list three pros (good things) and three cons (bad things) about working as a DOC ranger. At the bottom of your post, tell us whether you would like to be a DOC Ranger or not.

good things

-You can live on a island, that nearly no one can live on
-You can care for nearly extinct reptiles
-you could protect the wild life

Bad things

-you probably won't have a break since you live there
-you will have to live on a island with your soon to be workers
-your far away from your family members, so you'll have to travel

I would like to be a DOC ranger. This is because I can touch geckos and skinks and learn more about them. I just hope i don't need to pay rent in the island.

Day 3 week 1 = Fantastic beasts = Activity 1 SLJ

On your blog, post a description of your beast. Use interesting adjectives (describing words) to tell us about your beast.

First want the base of a snow tiger, white with black stripes. I also want it to have beautiful dazzling wings. I want the snow tiger to feel like fluffy snow, plus his tail to be extremely fluffy. I also want my beast to have sharper teeth, including black claws. I also want my beast the same age as me, Because then it wont leave me in depression. The three things I want to describe my pet is intelligent, lazy and caring.

I really just want this

I think it matches me because i can be smart, lazy and caring, I also like cute stuff and like in the past few blog post. I like the view.

Personality of my creation : intelligent, lazy and caring
Texture : cute and soft
Wings : so I can view not only new zealand but other countries too.

all the things i've said is either what i'm like or something I like, and I used these to make my beast.

day 2 week 1 = weird and wonderful = Activity 3 SLJ

Let’s imagine that you are given a cactus for your birthday. To keep it alive, you must give it 3 ml of water every day.Over one full year, how much water will you need to give your cactus plant? On your blog, tell us how to solve this maths problem. You can write your answer in words, use a Sketchpad image, or post a video explaining how you would figure it out. Be sure to give us your final answer in millilitres (ml).
It was just maths :)

Day 2 week 1 = fabulous ferns = activity 2 SLJ

On your blog list three sports teams that have the word ‘fern’ in their title. Beside each team’s name, post a picture of their uniform. Then, at the bottom of your blog post tell us which of the three uniforms you like best and why.

I like the black ferns uniforms the best. The reasoning for this is because they don't show as much skin as the other two. I know is not the best reason but I don't like dresses, and I don't like singlets a lot. Not only that but it I think would be more comfortable than a tight dress. Adding to that I dont think id like to play sport with a very thin shirt. I get cold randomly so i think that id be better with a normal thick shirt with comfortable shorts.

day 2 week 1 = forest life = activity 1 SLJ

On your blog, tell us whether you would like to go and visit Tāne Mahuta one day. Be sure to tell us why you do (or do not) want to visit this endemic tree.

I would like to visit Tane Mahuta because I think it would be a good experience not only for me but for my family members.

I enjoy hanging out with my cousins in a large area and we all like some parts of nature so I think this would be a good thing for family quality time. I also like peaceful places so sitting in a forest with my book and pen, it would be a much better environment to draw about. Not only that but it looks incredibly clean, so we may be able to persuade others to keep our land clean. Adding to that the endemic tree looks like a perfect area to have a picnic, its truly beautiful to me.

Day 1 Week 1 = north and south = Activity 2 SLJ

Now it is time to think about your hometown. What is special about where you live? On your blog, describe your hometown. Be sure to include lots of describing words (adjectives) in your post.

My hometown is Auckland.

Auckland is incredible and and safe, Why? Because we don't have any poisonous species. Amarica have gigantic poisonous spiders, australia have large snakes and new zealand have none of them. New zealand is poison free and have loads of food stores, so wherever you are, if you are hungry you just need to drive to a store which won't be too far. We also have art on glen innes walls, painted by professionals. it's always nice to look at something that's perfect and beautiful, don't you think so? There is also a tall tower we so call the sky tower, its incredibly tall and the view from up there is stunning. One tree hill is also magnificent, a hill where you can view the area you live in is surely an impressive sight. New zealand is a safe sighting for everyone to enjoy.

new zealand history

According to maori history, maui a powerful demigod was set to sea with a strong hook made by his grandmothers jaw bone. while fishing with the hook he caught an incredibly large fish, that fish was New Zealand. in honor of this legend the northside of new zealand is sometimes called Maui's fish, in maori its called te ika a maui. And on the opposite side of our land, the north, sometimes people call that area Te waka a maui, translated it into english, the name is maui's canoe.

Day 1 Week 1 = a place to stand = activity 1 SLJ

To learn more cool facts about New Zealand, check out the Tourism NZ website. Read the fun facts posted on the website and choose your ‘Top 3.’ On your blog, post your ‘Top 3 Fun Facts’ about NZ.

1. to become a new zealand citizen, you must swear a loyalty oath to queen elizabeth.

2. when in new zealand, you must drive on the left side of the road.

3. There are no snakes in our country.

(ps : i didn't know if we had to write the history of new zealand since it was there, so i just put that in another blog post)
